On 4 January 1942, the first truckload of American internees was brought to the oldest university, the University of Sto. Tomas, resulting in the formation of the Santo Tomas Internment Camp (STIC). The camp witnessed the life of the prisoners -- how they lived, hoped, played, and worked for each other, and how they coped with their loss of freedom and the uncertainty of their future.
